About

I’m a writer-turned-photographer-turned-multimedia journalist, but, as you will see here, I’m most comfortable and effective producing video features and short documentaries on a variety of subjects, from environmental preservation to human rights.

After living and working in West and Central Africa for 13 years, I have recently returned to the United States to cover rural issues in the Midwest. I have a master’s degree from the Newmark Graduate School of Journalism and my work has been published by The New York Times, GlobalPost, Al Jareeza, Voice of America, CNN, as well as many international organizations and institutions. I worked at the BBC for five years from the bureau in Dakar, Senegal, where I produced television, radio and digital content in English and French, which I speak fluently.

My greatest strength is my versatility, which allows me to  independently produce high-quality video outputs — as well as secondary and tertiary outputs for print, broadcast and social media — handling every stage in the process, from pitch to publication. While I have worked on many stories as part of a team, I am presenting here only projects on which I worked alone or had the editorial lead.
