This is a selection films that I researched, reported, filmed and edited for various international organizations. Though considered short films, they are much longer than the short-form video journalism you’ll see on the rest of this site and they required much more time, effort and planning.

Extraordinary Women in West Africa

This is a film about five women who help drive the development of their communities, countries and region created with the Open Society Initiative for West Africa for its campaign “Everybody’s Business: Women’s Rights in West Africa”.

Harm Reduction: The Senegalese Experience

Yellitaare

The Spanish and Senegalese governments collaborated on a project to improve the lives of 300,000 people in the most vulnerable and food insecure part of the country. This film documents the results of those efforts two years after they began.

Brave

In many countries in West and Central Africa, human rights defenders are often the target of harassment, arbitrary arrest, and torture. Mauritania, Chad and Sierra Leone are particularly difficult places to fight the abuse of power. Amnesty International sent me to tell the stories of those who are brave enough to do so.

Ebola response in Guinea

The Open Society Initiative for West Africa supports projects and organizations that work toward transparency and good governance throughout the region. But the Ebola crisis disrupted everything so OSIWA, too, changed its course to help stop the deadly virus.
